AstraZeneca Design Award

The DBP website initiative is headed by AstraZeneca and was endorsed by the HSE when they became aware of the impressive construction innovations that were being achieved through the sharing of best practice within the industry.

2020 was an extremely challenging year for all and receiving this award in recognition of Peers contribution to the website and acknowledged by AstraZeneca ensures this is one coveted prize!

AstraZeneca’s SHE Expert/Construction Lead Brian Street commented:

“At AstraZeneca we are always looking for opportunities to make working on our construction projects safer, healthier and better for the environment. A key part of this is to identify these opportunities at the design phase and a central tool in doing this is the Design Best Practice website www.dbp.org.uk . We are proud to have worked with Harry Peers Steelwork as founder members of the Design Best Practice Group which came into being way back in 2004. Each year AstraZeneca try to recognise exceptional pro-active supplier performance and at our last (virtual) awards in Dec 2020 we gave the award for Design Best Practice to Harry Peers Steelwork for their continuing work and support of this Group”.

Over the years, the DBP website has attracted submissions from some of the industry’s biggest names such as Amec, Jacobs, Arup, Skanska, Mott MacDonald and many more.

There are currently 289 case studies on the website covering various construction disciplines/activities and Peers have contributed over 50 to date.
