One of our Assistant Project Managers, Sam Wright, had recently experienced the sad loss of his dad to cancer, who throughout his life, had been a keen runner and had completed many marathons. To celebrate and commemorate his dad, Sam and his family decided to sign up to Macmillan’s Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike – a 26-mile hike along the coast.
Sam and his team started the hike at Alnwick Castle on 17 July and walked the 26-miles along the coastal path to Bamburgh Castle – during a heatwave!
Sam’s target was to raise £2,250 for Macmillan Cancer and he managed to raise an impressive £3,580, with The Severfield Foundation being delighted in being able to contribute £500 towards his target.
