Severfield's success at the 56th Structural Steel Design Awards

We are delighted to share that we received a commendation for Lucent and an award for Co-op Live at the SSDAs on Thursday 26th September.

Last week, Thursday 26th September, colleagues from Severfield attended the 56th Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA), held at Christ Church Spitalfields venue in London. Jointly sponsored by the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) and Steel for Life, this event celebrates excellence in structural steel design and construction across the industry.

The SSDAs are renowned for recognising innovative projects that push the boundaries of engineering and design. This year, the judging panel sifted through a shortlist of 21 projects, assessing each for its sustainability, cost-effectiveness, aesthetics, and overall innovation.

In total, Severfield had four projects shortlisted, and from this selection, we are delighted to share that we received a commendation for Lucent, a complex cut-and-carve job behind London's famous Piccadilly Lights, and an award for Co-op Live, the UK's newest and largest indoor arena, located in Manchester featuring 10,000 tonnes of structural steel.

The evening was filled with celebration and recognition of the hard work that goes into every project. Congratulations to all the teams and individuals who were shortlisted and to those who received a merit, commendation or award.
