At Severfield, we believe that investing in apprenticeships is investing in the future of our industry. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Kevin McCann, Fabrication Instructor at our Ballinamallard facility, has been awarded Mentor of the Year at the Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards 2025!
What this award means
The Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards, hosted by the Department for the Economy, celebrate individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to apprenticeships. The Mentor of the Year award recognises individuals who have gone above and beyond in guiding, supporting, and developing apprentices, helping them gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their careers.
Kevin has made a significant impact on our apprentices at Ballinamallard. His leadership ensures that the next generation of skilled workers are set up for success by developing their professional and technical skills.
A team effort in apprenticeship development
Our Production Planning Manager, Mark Allen, also played a vital role in developing our apprenticeship programme. His efforts in structuring and enhancing the training framework have been instrumental in ensuring Severfield apprentices receive the highest level of education and on-the-job experience.
Both Kevin and Mark’s contributions have been recognised by the Department for the Economy and South West College, reinforcing the high standards of training and mentorship provided at Severfield. Their commitment is shaping the future workforce and reinforcing our position as a leader in the construction industry.
