Severfield is a licensed fabricator of Fabsec’s FABSEC and FIREBEAM® cellular beams, which are fabricated from plate analysed and designed using the FBEAM® software.
We can design both FABSEC® beams at ambient temperature condition and FIREBEAM® in the fire condition. Web infills are never required and good design can eliminate the need for any stiffeners which creates highly economical solutions.
The primary applications for FABSEC® beams are for long span composite and non-composite construction, which give fewer columns and enhanced architectural freedom.
These solutions are used in many sectors of the construction industry including offices, retail parks, hospitals, car parks and warehouses.
About Fabsec Software
The FABSEC FBEAM® software, when used with the FIREBEAM® add-on, considers both the design at ambient temperature and fire limit states for Fabsec cellular beams. It allows structural and consulting engineers to add mass and openings where truly necessary.
The key component is that the software allows optimisation of the steel and the Intumescent passive fire protection paint offering a truly sustainable solution. Whole life cycle embodied carbon calculations can be provided at an individual element level as required. In addition it offers BIM links to Tekla Structural Designer and RAM Structures.
The FBEAM software is third party verified and accredited by the SCI.
