Sport plays such an important role in our society; we treat stadiums and grounds as a place to come together with our communities and so to return to work on the home of the quintessentially English game that is cricket, was a huge honour for us.
We previously worked on the main stand prior to this expansion project, so we have history here and it's exciting to have such a legacy to return to.
Lord's Cricket Ground has been welcoming the world's finest batsmen and bowlers since 1814 and it was time for the two existing stands to be replaced to flank the main media area.

This project focused on increasing the capacity by a couple of thousand, but importantly, reducing the number of restricted view seats and increasing the amount of hospitality space.
Despite our understanding of these spaces and our extensive knowledge, this project still posed challenges in terms of the architectural steelwork required in a relatively tight timescale. The plan meant there was less than a year from demolition of the old stand, including new piling and foundations, to the completion of the new stand for a new season.
Our team worked hard to devise an innovative erection method and delivery programme to meet expectations and bowled the client over with our successful delivery!
